The meeting has reviewed the status of talks towards an FTA between
Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Nevine Gamea has met with Andrey Slepnev, minister in charge of trade of the
Eurasian Economic Commission, on the sidelines of the 25th St.
Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), held on June 15-18.
The meeting reviewed the status of talks
towards a free trade agreement between Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Union
(EAEU), which would boost mutual trade and investment flows.
Gamea noted that four rounds of negotiations
had been completed successfully, stressing the need to reach an inclusive agreement
that serves the interests of the two parties.
“Egypt is open for more investments from the EAEU countries and is
committed to streamlining related procedures and eliminate potential obstacles,”
she said, calling the private sector from both sides to benefit from the
country’s business-friendly climate.
