Cairo- July 10, 2022
Kenya has agreed to extend its
customs duties exemption on Egyptian exports for a year as of July 1st,
following the approval of the East African Community (EAC)’s Customs Union.
The Egyptian commercial office in the
capital Nairobi has held intensive communications with all the parties
concerned in an attempt to renew the exemption which ended on June 30.
“The move comes within the government’s
keenness to foster Egypt-Africa economic ties and boost local exports to the continent,”
Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea said.
