Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine
Gamea has held an expanded meeting with senior officials at the Industrial Development
Authority (IDA) to discuss its current service system and outline the vision for
enhancing its role during the coming period.
“A comprehensive plan to develop
the IDA’s services is underway in order to offer more facilities to investors
in all industrial sectors,” Gamea said, stressing the special attention given
by the government to boosting investment amid the global economic crisis.
The move, she added, would streamline
procedures for land allocation in industrial estates and the related licensing process.
The minister further noted that the
country aims to lure more capital into the manufacturing sector, hence, boosting
its contribution to GDP, creating jobs and deepening local industry.
