Minister of Trade and Industry
Nevine Gamea has attended the Engineering Export Excellence Awards Ceremony
(EXXA 2022), organized by the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EEC) in
Cairo.
The event was attended by heads of
the Industrial Development Authority; the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprise Development
Agency; the General Organization for Export and Import Control; the Egyptian
General Organization for Standardization and Quality; the Industrial
Modernization Center; the Egyptian Commercial Service; and the National
Accreditation Council; along with a large number of engineering companies.
“Egypt boasts great potential in engineering
industries that qualifies it to compete on regional and global markets,” Gamea
said.
The Engineering Export Excellence
Awards, she added, is one of the best initiatives launched by the EEC, with the
aim of encouraging Egyptian manufacturers to increase their exports and find
new opportunities on various markets, in addition to creating a new generation
of innovative exporters.
According to official figures, Egypt’s
engineering and electronics exports registered about $3.4 billion in 2021, up
from 46.5% $2.3 billion a year earlier.
