Minister
of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has issued today two decrees banning for three months the export of infection prevention supplies, including
face masks and alcohol as well as its derivatives, as of publishing in the
official gazette.
“The
move aims to ensure the supply of these items as part of the government’s precautionary
measures to protect citizens from the fallout of the coronavirus outbreak,”
Gamea said.
The decision,
she added, comes after coordination with the health ministry and manufacturing
companies, after large amounts of such products were exported over the past few
days to countries with outbreaks, creating a shortage in the local market.
