Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine
Gamea has had a telephone conversation with Minister in charge of Trade of the
Eurasian Economic Commission (the EEC) Andrey Slepnev to discuss pushing ahead
with negotiations on a free trade agreement between Egypt and the Eurasian
Economic Union (EAEU).
The two sides agreed on holding virtual
meetings on expert level to prepare for the next round of ministerial talks
during the last quarter of the year.
“The FTA would boost
bilateral trade; especially that Egypt is a major market for EAEU member
countries and a gateway to Africa and the Arab world,” Gamea said.
