Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil said on Tuesday, 22/12/2015 a European-Egyptian program to promote trade and local markets in Egypt will start in February next year at a cost of 20 million Euros.
Qabil said in statements following his meeting with Ambassador of the EU to Egypt James Moran that the program is part of technical assistance programs provided by the European Union for Egypt.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the projects and initiatives currently carried out in cooperation with the EU in Egypt.
Qabil stressed the deeply-rooted relations between Egypt and the EU, which is the first trade partner to the Arab country.
The trade volume reached 25.4 billion Euros in 2014 and the European investments in Egypt amount to 38.2 billion dollars, he said.
